On the fourth of April of each year, the United Nations commemorate the International Day for Mine Awareness to highlight the serious threat that mines and unexploded remnants of war pose to the safety, health and lives of the local civilian population, as well as obstacles to social and economic development efforts at the national and local levels. Free Fields Foundation every year with the Libyan Mine action center commemorate and participate in this day by presenting the achievements in humanitarian mine action in Libya.
